Launch at EarthX Gala
Rio Beach, Pre-COP30, Climate Music Concert Announcement by MAD Impact

EarthX was the launch venue for MAD Impact to launch its plan to hold the largest music event in human history at Rio Beach.

Aline Miller, the co-founder of MAD Impact and the visionary behind the Pre-COP30 concert was introduced by Ketan Patel, chair of Force for Good, with the following key messages:

• MAD is a platform aimed at culture and creativity to drive climate action through emotional connection.

• It was born from a desire to move beyond data and silos, uniting innovation with human connection founded by Aline and David Miller.

• The 2025 Rio concert ambition is to gather 4 million people for the concert and mobilize 4 billion people globally ahead of COP30.

The executive producer for the event is Jon Miller of Force for Good. Forcecfur Good supports the initiative as part of its nine solution sets for closing the SDG gap, this one focused on mass mobilisation for impact.

Key Note: Brave New Ocean Conference

Glenn Gaffney, Former Director of Science and Technology at the CIA, introduced by Sid Thurston, delivered key messages, including:

• Oceans are a key frontier for planetary, economic and human security

• Its huge potential has been barely explored or exploited and this is an important next fronter

• Innovation can unlock enormous potential for the world across many fields of endeavour.

• Energy development of new commercial ocean enterprise and markets similar to commercial satellite market in 2010s.

The context was set for a distinguished panel by Ketan Patel, Founder and Chairman of Force for Good, comprising panelists:

• Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, PhD, US Navy (Retired), Fomer Acting Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Acting Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),

• Sally Ann Ranney, Founder Global Choices, President and Co-founder of American Renewable Energy Institute (AREI)

• Dr. Julie Pullen, Ocean Scientist and Investor, Former Founding Partner & Chief Scientist of Propeller Ventures, an early-stage ocean climate tech VC fund.
