COP30 is the United Nations Climate Change Conference taking place in Belém, Brazil from 10 to 21 November 2025.
UN Climate Change Conferences (or COPs) take place every year, and are the world’s only multilateral decision-making forum on climate change that brings together almost every country on Earth.
The COP is where the world comes together to agree on the actions to address the climate crisis, such as limiting the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius, helping vulnerable communities adapt to the effects of climate change, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
COP30 will bring together world leaders and negotiators from the member states (or Parties) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to further global progress, with business leaders, young people, climate scientists, Indigenous Peoples, and civil society sharing insights and best practices to strengthen global, collective and inclusive climate action.
Strategic Global Mobilisation of Investment for Development & Climate: Launching a World Investment Plan
Challenge Brief:
As the world faces a dual metacrisis - of climate instability and uneven development - unfolding within a widespread polycrisis of conflict, inequality, and technological disruption, neither the climate agenda nor the development agenda is being addressed with the urgency or scale required. The two are intertwined; sustainable growth cannot occur on an unstable planet, and the climate transition cannot succeed without inclusive development. Mobilising global capital to deliver both, in tandem, is now a defining challenge for this generation.
World Investment Plan (WIP) Brief:
Developed by Force for Good, the World Investment Plan sets out an investment agenda that profitably addresses both development and climate by turning needs into markets. It identifies US$110 trillion in assets across ten priority investment areas. The plan identifies how to catalyse a “Big Bang” of sustainable growth through 2050 and beyond.
